Q Spirit

Every Thursday night at 7:00 pm, a group of people of all ages gathers to take an in-depth, up-close-and-personal look at how God is working in our lives, our community, and our world.  A word of caution—Q Spirit is NOT your typical Bible study!  We don’t stay on the surface of things—we dig deeply into ourselves, our faith, our community, and our spirits as God’s beloved gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, and straight ally people.  Our discussion might be a several-week series of related topics centered around a common theme, or it might be centered around the lectionary cycle of readings.  Whatever format we choose, our discussion is always lively…always passionate…always relevant to the life, issues, spirit, and well-being of God’s beloved GLBTA people…and it’s always led from a spiritual perspective.  In our discussion we bring in what the Christian scripture has to say about things, and we look at other perspectives—Buddhist, Islam, spiritualist, ecological, etc. You name it, we look at it and how it affects us spiritually.  We talk about the things that many folks are afraid to talk about:  AIDS, sexuality, civil rights, gays and the church, coming out, human rights, justice, and most of all—God’s love, care and purpose for us just as we are.
