Together, let us affirm…God of new life, the shadows and gloom of Good Friday have been destroyed by the light and color of Easter Sunday.  We rejoice in your power that turns our sorrow into joy, our despair into hope, our defeat into victory, and evil into goodness.  Help us on this Easter morning, O God, to burst out of the tombs that have trapped us: tombs of selfishness, guilt, shame, greed, and self-hatred.  Let now a new life of  divine grace and human love burst forth from each of us this easter day, through the grace of Jesus Christ, the risen one. Amen.

 

Liturgy of Communion / Liturgia de la Comunión

            One:        The Spirit of the Risen Christ be with you.

            All:           And also with you.

            One:        Open your hearts.

            All:           We open them to God.

            One:        Let us give thanks to our God.

            All:           It is right to give God thanks and praise.

One:        We praise you, O God, for the promise of new life that is ours in Jesus Christ, the risen Lord.  As we gather to share this sacred meal, we sing to You this song of praise:

 

Santo, Santo, Santo!  Mi corazon te adora. 

Mi Corazon te sabe decir, “Santo eres Señor.”

 

Holy, Holy, Holy!  My heart, my heart adores you.

My heart knows how to say to you, “Holy are you, Lord.”

 

One:     These common elements become blessed and holy by the power of the Creator, the Christ, and the Holy Spirit.

Our Sovereign’s Prayer / La Oración de Nuestro Soberano

Our God, who is in heaven, honored is your name. Your dominion come, your will be done on Earth as it is in heaven.  Give us today our daily bread, and forgive us our wrongs, as we forgive those who do wrong against us.  Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For yours is the dominion, the power, and the glory forever and ever.  AMEN.

 

 

 

At the Table of God

 

All congregations in MCC practice an open communion.  This means that you don’t have to be a member of Eternal Joy MCC or any church to receive the blessings contained in the bread of life and cup of redemption.

 

As you are directed by the ushers, come forward and receive the bread and cup.  If you wish, step to the next available server, who will offer you a short blessing.  If you desire a specific prayer step to the far right, where someone will anoint and pray with you.  If you do not wish to receive prayer, simply return to your seat by the side aisle and spend the moments of Communion in quiet prayer and meditation.

 

Todos son bienvenidos á compartir en la Comunión. Como a los ujieres los dirige, venga adelante y reciban el pan y la taza. Si usted desea, vaya hacia el servidor disponible siguiente, que le ofrecerá una bendición corta. Si usted desea algo específico de que orar, pase a la derecha, donde alguien untará y rogará con usted. Si usted no desea recibir oración, simplemente vuelva a su asiento por el pasillo lateral y pase unos momentos de comunion en oración o meditación en silencio.
