Psalm 118.1-2, 14-24:  Tell the LORD how thankful you are, because God is kind and always merciful. Let Israel shout, "God is always merciful!" Open the gates of justice! I will enter and tell the LORD how thankful I am.

                God is my strength and my song, and now God is my salvation.  Hear the shouts, hear the triumph songs in the camp of the saved?

"The hand of God has turned the tide! The hand of God is raised in victory! The hand of God has turned the tide!"

             I didn't die. I lived! And now I'm telling the world what God did.  God tested me, pushed me hard, but GOD didn't hand me over to Death.  Swing wide the city gates—the righteous gates! I'll walk right through and thank God!

             This Temple Gate belongs to God, so the victors can enter and praise.  Thank you for responding to me; you've truly become my salvation! The stone the masons discarded as flawed is now the capstone! This is God's work. We rub our eyes—we can hardly believe it! This is the very day God acted—celebrate and be festive!

Welcome to Eternal Joy MCC!  Our worship is designed to take the gathered people of God on

a journey of

affirmation, exploration,

and reflection

on what it means to be God’s beloved and treasured child, just as we are. 

 

We Approach God

 

After we are gathered in God’s name and in God’s presence, we approach God and offer to God all that we are, all that we have, and all that we hope to be.  We offer all this to God in our bodies, our prayers, our songs, and our treasure. 

 

As we surrender all this to God, we ask God to anoint and use all that we offer to make God’s unconditional love a reality in the world and our community.
